Dear Dr [Surname],

Your patients in alcohol recovery *want* to give you good data between appointments — they simply don't have the tools. By the time they sit down in front of you, they can't tell you which days they took thiamine, whether they hit 140 g of protein, how their salt intake looked, or when their mood dipped.

**Anchor Recovery** was built to close that gap. It is a free companion app for anyone cutting back or abstaining from alcohol, and it is designed around a single premise: **doctors love knowing everything, so give them everything — on the cadence they choose, in one clean PDF, without them having to log in anywhere.**

At the centre of the app is a **one-tap "Email my doctor" button**. The patient enters your email address once and picks **Weekly / Fortnightly / Monthly**. From that moment on, a dated PDF report lands in your inbox automatically. No dashboard. No login. No chasing.

### What the patient is tracking every day (and what you see in the PDF)

**1. Medication Tracker — the centrepiece**
- Every medication the patient is on: naltrexone, acamprosate, disulfiram, thiamine, B-complex, folic acid, propranolol, SSRIs, anti-craving agents — whatever you've prescribed.
- Configurable dose, frequency, and reminder times.
- **Live alarms fire on the patient's phone at the exact reminder time** — this is not retrospective ticking, it is real-time adherence.
- The PDF shows: adherence % across the reporting window, a per-day dose grid (ticked/missed), and a flagged list of any medication missed more than twice.
- Result: you walk into the consult already knowing exactly what they took and when.

**2. Diet Tracker — the four numbers you actually want**
Every day the patient logs, and the PDF trends over the reporting window:
- **Protein (target 140 g/day)** — critical for the malnourished discharged patient; you see daily total, weekly average, and the days they fell short.
- **Salt (target < 2 g/day)** — essential for anyone with hypertension, ascites, or on diuretics.
- **Water (target 1.5 L/day)** — the ceiling matters as much as the floor in decompensated liver disease.
- **Milk intake** — logged separately in 100 / 250 / 500 ml presets. Useful for calorie and calcium picture.
- **Carbohydrates** — daily total, so you can see if they're actually eating or subsisting on toast and coffee.
- Rings turn amber → red when the patient drifts from targets. They know they're off-track *before* the next appointment, not after.

**3. AI Meal Planner — "What's in the fridge?"**
- Patient photographs the inside of their fridge or types what they have.
- The app generates 3 high-protein, low-salt, alcohol-free recipes in seconds — with cost, prep time, and macros.
- Also included: a **plated-meal photo scanner** (photo of dinner → estimated protein/salt/carbs/calories) and a **food-label scanner** (photo of any packet → nutrition panel parsed).
- The PDF lists which recipes they saved and cooked — a genuine proxy for engagement and for whether nutrition advice at discharge actually landed.
- Massive for the malnourished discharged patient with £30 for the week who doesn't know what to cook.

**4. Document Scanner — patient numbers, blood tests, discharge letters**
- Patient photographs anything: hospital number card, NHS/Medicare number, blood-test result letters, discharge summaries, appointment cards, GP referrals.
- Stored encrypted in-app, tagged, searchable.
- **The patient's hospital / patient ID number is saved once and appears at the top of every PDF you receive** — so you can match the report to the record in your system in under three seconds.
- Every scanned document is included as a read-only appendix in the PDF.

**5. Quick-Read Summary — the 90-second glance**
Every PDF opens with a plain-English paragraph designed for the moment you're walking into the consulting room:

> *"This patient logged 26 of 28 days. Averaged 132 g protein (target 140), 1.8 g salt, 1.3 L water. Medication adherence 94% — missed thiamine on 3 days. Mood improved from 5.2 to 6.8 average. Sobriety streak 47 days, no resets. Two GGT results uploaded — see appendix."*

That's the pitch: **you know the whole picture before you sit down.**

**6. Also captured**
- **Sobriety counter** with reset log and honest triggers.
- **Daily mood rating (1–10)** with tags: calm / anxious / hopeful / low / craving / restless.
- **Correlation chart** — mood vs. diet vs. adherence, so patterns surface.
- **Glossary** — patients can read plain-language explanations of AUD, GGT, ALT, MCV, thiamine, naltrexone, acamprosate before they see you, so the consult isn't spent explaining vocabulary.

### Why doctors keep using it

- **You do nothing.** No install, no login, no dashboard to check. Reports arrive on your chosen cadence.
- **Cadence is your choice, not the patient's.** Weekly for the first 90 days post-detox, fortnightly through the stabilisation phase, monthly for maintenance — the patient sets it to your preference in one tap.
- **Every report is dated, signed with the patient's ID number, and printable** — file it in the notes, forward to the MDT, no fuss.
- **Free for the patient.** All tracking, all logging, the medication tracker, the diet tracker, the document scanner, the glossary, and one PDF export per period are free forever. Only the AI meal planner sits behind an optional subscription.
- **No medical claims.** Anchor is a wellness journal. Reviewed and approved by Apple's App Store team. Clear disclaimers on every relevant screen.
- **Data ownership.** MongoDB, encrypted at rest. Patients own and can export or delete their data at any time. GDPR / HIPAA-aligned.

*P.S. If there's a specific data point you wish appeared in the PDF — GGT trend, ALT, MCV, injection dates, LFT panels, appointment attendance, anything — tell me. The report layout is not fixed. It is shaped by the doctors who tell me what they would actually use in clinic.*
